In order to ensure that KEBS delivers on its mandate, we now seek to recruit a high caliber, results oriented and self driven professional who will provide leadership and strategic direction in the capacity of Managing Director.

The Role

Reporting to the National Standards Council, The Managing Director will bear the ultimate responsibility of safeguarding the reputation of Kenya’s products and services as well as the quality of imports brought into the country.

S/he will be responsible for directing and managing KEBS projects, activities, staff and resources in order to deliver the organization’s strategic plan and to meet the country’s standardization and the National Quality Infrastructure.

S/he will foster a culture of quality and performance that promotes standards of ethical practices, good corporate citizenship as well as health.

S/he will also inculcate a result-based management culture to improve performance and accountability of staff and senior management in the organization.

Personal Profile

Must be a Kenyan citizen with high Ethical standards, integrity and professionalism and should meet chapter six (6) of the Kenyan Constitution.
The ideal candidate must be a holder of Bachelor degree from a recognized university in the fields of Management, Social Sciences, Business or Public Administration, Engineering or other related fields. A master’s degree of any of the above fields will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 10 years professional experience in a senior role in a multi faceted organization.
Must be visionary, transformative and with a global perspective
Must have proven excellent leadership skills in strategy formulation and execution
Should have experience and capacity to mobilize resources for project implementation
Must demonstrate knowledge in negotiations, influencing skills and industry knowledge
Clear knowledge of vision 2030 and ability to align the same to the organization’s mission and vision
Should be knowledgeable on Kenyan Legal and regulatory framework.
