Duties & Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Head of Processing and Engineering, the job holder is responsible for;

• Reviewing/developing engineering policies, programmes and systems
• Planning long and short-term engineering-including feasibility studies as well as setting performance target for the department.
• Management of engineering projects including planning, design and construction of the same
• Developing clear criteria for identification and prioritization of projects.
• Setting standards for selection of consultants and contractors to undertake the projects in line with the public procurement policies.
• Preparing annual budgets and long term investment plans involving engineering.
• Undertaking supervision, training and development of the technical staff-professionals, technicians and artisans.
• Preparing periodic reports
• Providing assistance in executing other delegated assignments
• Performing any other duties as assigned

Job Specification

• Must be a holder of degree in Mechanical/ Production or related Engineering field
• Must be a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya and in possession of a valid practicing license
• 10 years minimum experience in engineering duties
• Good Communication and interpersonal skills
