Job Title: Procurement Manager

Company: Kenya Seed Company

Job Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and implement Procurement policies and procedures in line with Procurement laws and regulations;
Ensure user departments adhere to procurement plans in line with budgets;
Carry market surveys, monitor and evaluate performance of the supply chain function;
Ensure sound partnerships with suppliers, clients and relevant government agencies;
Ensure timely, efficient and effective procurement of goods, services and works, while strictly adhering to the procurement policy;
Prepare requisitions for quotations or tenders to pre-qualified suppliers for the Company.
Process applications and prepare the Company’s Tender Committee papers;
Establish in liaison with the relevant departments and end-users, quality specifications of goods and services required by the Company;
Carry out designated checks on quality and security aspects of procurement;
Review the supply chain to ensure it is efficient and effective
Manage the annual supplier pre-qualification exercise;
Manage the disposal of obsolete and disposable items.
Any other duties that may be assigned.

Job Specification

A Bachelors degree Supply Chain Management/ Social Sciences and a
A Diploma in CIPS or other equivalent professional qualification,
A minimum of 12 years’ working experience, 8 of which must be post first degree qualification and 3 years at Senior Management position.
At least one (1) years relevant experience in similar position in a busy reputable Organization,
Must have sound knowledge of the Public Procurement and Disposable Act 2005.
Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM).
