Duties & Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Engineering Manager the job holder;

• Organizes maize seed, maize rejects and wheat, intake to Seed Driers in coordination with production division.
• Receives and documents for payment of seed maize and rejects delivered to Seed Driers by maize growers.
• Ensures efficient quality maize selection, drying, shelling, processing, cleaning, grading, dressing, labeling, weighing, sewing and packaging.
• Ensures general cleanliness around Seed Driers factory/Camp.
• Effects general hygiene e.g fumigation, rat control proper stacking and arrangement of seed in the store.
• Documents raw seed at the Factory, packed seed to Marketing Division and maize rejects to millers.
• Ensures timely report submission as per requirements.
• Manages working/ payment of staff in the factory.
• Ensures efficient utilization of staff.
• Trains operators
• Ensures availability processing materials for use
• Ensures effective and efficient utilization of Seed Driers plant, equipment and other machinery
• Ensures appropriate periodical repair and maintenance of machinery
• Supervises new constructions at Seed Driers.
• Ensures company documentation procedure and financial procedures are followed.
• Prepares periodic reports
• Carries out any other duties as may be directed by management.

Job Specification

• Must be a holder of degree in Mechanical/ Production or related Engineering field
• Must be a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya and in possession of a valid practicing license
• 9 years minimum experience in engineering duties
• Good Communication and interpersonal skills
