Duties & Responsibilities
• Development, implementation and management of a comprehensive ICT strategy covering accounting and financial management, procurement, human resource management, asset management, office management, document management
• Development, implementation and management of an ICT based strategy to support the Company's operations including records
• Implementation and management of ICT based systems to support data preparation necessary for economic analysis of Company business
• Implementation and management of LANs for regional and headquarter offices and WANs to link the various offices
• Implementation and management of messaging systems, websites for the Company and intranets for secure information dissemination within the Company
• Selection, procurement, maintenance and management of all ICT hardware. Timely renewal of the same as necessary
• Developing and providing end user training and IT support
• Conducting training needs assessments and development of capacity building programmes to meet gaps in ICT knowledge
• Customizing ICT systems into an interactive infrastructure which enables faster access to data, information and the sharing of ICT resources by users
• Management of systems for ensuring hardware security and integrity including backup strategies
• Monitoring of developments in ICT technology and drawing to the attention of the Company the opportunities and/or threats associated with the same
• Management of internet, intranet and other ICT security
• Provision of advice to the Company on all matters relating to ICT
• Ensuring disaster and recovery management
• Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned by Management
Job Specification
• A first degree in computer science from a recognized university or a first degree in a numerate discipline from a recognized university and postgraduate qualifications in computer science
• Proficiency in leading edge computing technology, programming, and practical knowledge of Oracle and SQL databases
• Posses a minimum of 10 (ten) years post qualification experience
• Demonstrable exposure to and basic professional knowledge of networking, internet technologies, relational database design and operations, office productivity applications, geographical information systems and common hardware and peripherals
• Qualifications in specific computer technologies such as operating systems, web design and development, database design and management etc will be an added advantage
• Good communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage staff and provide good leadership
