HR Business Partner at Kenya Red Cross

Job Title: HR Business Partner

Organisation: Kenya Red Cross

Location:  Nairobi

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure HR programs are delivered and aligned with Business strategies along with HR priorities.
  • Support the annual performance management and compensation processes in alignment with Society practices
  • Coach leadership on standard talent management process and ensure development and implementation of talent practices i.e Succession Planning, training and Performance Management.
  • Work toward standardization and consistency of approach to HR across the society on Issues relating to Employee Management and relations
  • Keep HR Processes in full compliance with the legal, regulatory and internal frameworks
  • Provide HR reports and analysis for management decision including turnover, development, discipline, manpower planning..etc

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in an HR generalist, management or business partner role
  • Solid expertise in HR technical proficiencies and core HR competencies with experience in coaching, employee development and driving process improvements and conducting Job Evaluations.
  • Master’s degree or MBA in a Human Resources discipline preferred
  • Employee relations, change management and team development experience
  • Good Knowledge and understanding of Kenya Labour Laws
  • Must be a Certified Member of IHRM

Desired competencies
  • Good knowledge of the work of the Red Cross in Kenya
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions .
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to Influence and interface with senior members of the business/Society
  • Good Knowledge of employment laws in Kenya
  • A strong sense of business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information.

The Principal Human Resource officer will be reporting to the Human Resource Manager.

Responsibilities:

Analyzing the staffing levels and making proposals for succession planning;
Analyzing utilization of human resource in the Agency and advising on proper deployment;
Analyzing staff progression and making proposals for career development; and
Ensuring the correct interpretation and implementation of human resource regulations including pensions, salary administration, labour laws and other statutes that impact on human resource.

Qualification and Experience

Served for a minimum period of three (3) years in a senior management position in human resource management or in a comparable position in the Public Service or reputable Private Sector.
A Bachelors Degree in social sciences or any other relevant qualification from a recognized university and a diploma in human resource management or industrial relations from a recognized institution.
Have attended a senior management course in relevant field lasting not less than four (4) weeks in a recognized institution.
Shown merit as reflected in work performance and results.
Member of Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM-K).
Master’s degree In human resource management will be an added advantage

Duties and Responsibilities:

Establishment and management of an efficient and effective, professional and sustainable Human Resource (HR) system;
Overseeing and managing performance management and incentive systems;
Formulating and overseeing implementation of Human resource strategies, policies and programmes/work plans;
Establishing and monitoring staff training and development programmes;
Ensuring implementation of computerized Human Resources Management infrastructure;
Managing all industrial relations issues; and
Overseeing provision of both technical and support services in WRMA.

Qualifications and Experiences:

Bachelor’s  degree in  any of the following: Social Sciences such as Government, Sociology, Economics, Public or Business Administration, Human Resource or Personnel Management or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized institution;
Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from an accredited Institution;
Served for at least four (4) years in the grade of Senior Human Resource  Officer or in a relevant and equivalent position;
Clearance with Chapter 6 of Kenya Constitution Institutions including EACC, CID, Helb, KRA and Director of Public Prosecutions
Attended a Management/Leadership course lasting not less than one (1) month from a recognized Institution;
Computer proficiency skills;
Member of Good Standing of Institute of HRM for at least 4 Years and
Shown merit and ability in work performance and results;
