Job Description:

Duties:

Lead in acquisition of satellite data, image quality analysis, image processing and interpretation, and extraction of thematic information.
Provide advice on the use of remote sensing applications in different thematic areas.
Synthesize remotely sensed data and products into a decision system through earth systems modeling and/or comparison with ground observations.
Make products from remotely sensed datasets, modeling and observations that fit the needs of decision support systems.
Sustain effective and continued communication and coordination with both internal and external partners.
Perform remote sensing and photogrammetry training including preparation of training materials.
Participate in knowledge sharing mechanisms implemented at RCMRD and the SERVIR network in matters of remote sensing and earth observations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Environmental Sciences, Remote Sensing, or related field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
At least 4 years of professional and practical experience working on Remote Sensing, image classification projects.
Good knowledge of remote sensing and practical use of remote sensing and GIS software’s required.
Experience in earth systems modeling and programming skills to automate GIS and Remote Sensing processes, and project management will be an added advantage.

Contract Duration: One (1) year renewable.

Job Description:

The Environmental Planner shall be responsible for conducting environmental audits and preparation of environmental impact assessment evaluation reports, implementation of the NHC environmental Management Plan (EMP) in consultation with the relevant bodies and advising the corporation on project appraisals among other duties.

Job Requirements:

A Bachelors’ degree in Environmental Management studies or equivalent
A Post graduate Diploma in Environmental Audit and assessment or equivalent
Registered as an environmental assessment lead expert with NEMA.
Six (6) years experience in environmental planning and management
Computer Literate
The positions of General Managers will be on a three (3) year renewable contract term

The rest will be on permanent and pensionable basis

Successful candidates will be subject to performance contracting.

Environment and Climate Change at Changieni Rasili Mali (CRM) Facility in Kenya

Act! through the Changieni Rasili Mali (CRM) Facility, funded by the Government of Sweden (GoSW) and the Department for International Development (UKaid) calls on Non-State Actors to Join our campaign of building champions for nature.

Act! announces a Request for Applications (RFA) for support in the Environment and Climate Change Sector.

This call seeks to support about 20 grants (for a maximum of one year period) that increase resilience of communities on impacts of climate change in the Arid and Semi Arid Lands(ASALs) by helping them adopt innovative and tested livelihood practices and techniques.

It is also intended to improve competencies of communities to adapt to climate change by strengthening organizational capacities of Non State Actors/Non State Actors networks and knowledge and information sharing for sustainable natural resources management.

The call also seeks to support implementation of innovative and strategic advocacy interventions needed to operationalize the devolved framework for the governance and management of environment and climate change.

2. An organization or individual who will have a recycling process using the Best Available Technologies (BATs) and Best Environmental Practices (BEPs)

3. An organization or individual with a disposal system using Best Available Technologies (BATs) and Best Environmental Practices (BEPs)

4. An organization or individual who takes part in tree planting and environmental conservation.

Or any other system put ¡n place that protects the environment which should be described in detail.

The Association is encouraging companies or individuals to try and do something in all areas mentioned.
